About our team and partnership with HIVOS
AmanaTech is an investigative and education project aiming to identify the risks and threats affecting online users from the Gulf. Our aim is to increase online protection and digital security by raising public awareness about these threats and supporting critical users with advice, support and training about digital security.
Bahrain Watch is a collective focusing on investigations, research, and analysis. We operate across five countries, including Bahrain, and work in four key areas: digital security, media and information control, economic corruption, and arms control. Our reports are timely, well-sourced and verifiable and can be employed by organisations and the public at large.
Since our founding, Bahrain Watch has uncovered corrupt practices, exposed targeted government surveillance against dissidents, shed light on practices of media censorship and information control, and stopped an unprecedented arms shipment to Bahrain.
The Digital Defenders Partnership (DDP) started late 2012 by the Freedom Online Coalition (FOC) to advance Internet freedom and to keep the internet open and free from emerging threats, specifically in internet repressive and transitional environments. The program increases and better coordinates emergency support for the internet’s critical users, such as bloggers, cyber activists, journalists, human rights defenders, and other civil society activists, through Grant making and Linking & Learning activities.
